Apple Photos collates images into year, month, and day order, to make finding photos and videos faster. Intelligent curation using on-device machine learning removes clutter by choosing what it considers the best shots from a series of similar images, which clears up the interface and makes it easier to select photos. Apple Photos scans photos intelligently to showcase images where main subjects are in better focus for enhanced previews. There are also some good basic editing tools which now expand to videos as well.
You can even search for places, people, and events thanks to the intelligent search suggestions. Google has equipped the Photos app with some Artificially Intelligent AI gears and automatic photo and video backup to autonomize the photo and video organization process.
Images can be viewed on any device, whether using the app or the weblink to your photos. The AI allows searches for a range of subjects such as dogs, cats, cars, planes etc, or even events such as birthdays and weddings. You can also order prints and photobooks right from the app and get them delivered straight to your door. Basic editing functions help to enhance colors or levels too, aimed at casual users or those with limited image editing knowledge.
Adobe Bridge is similar to Lightroom Classic but without the complex editing suite attached onto it. Actually, for file viewing and organization it could be argued that Bridge is much easier to use since it has easy access to EXIF data views so it works brilliantly for content creatives, like Art Directors, who need this information without any of the extra editing features.
The navigation layout is superb with the views being split into six different categories, with more to boot. Essentials mode displays the directory, files contained in the selected folder, and a full read-out of EXIF data. For those used to the Lightroom Classic layout, the filmstrip view may be the simplest way to navigate and organize photos. It includes options for displaying grids and margins, adding headers and footers, or even applying watermarks to protect intellectual property.
Adobe Bridge is suitable for working on a wide range of file types, from 3D textures to InDesign documents and almost any other file format you can make with Adobe software, within reason. Designed to provide a more visual interactive display of the images on your device, Elements Organizer automatically organizes photos and videos by date and a variety of other ways, too.
To start, the software scans all photos for faces and location tags for automatic categorization and then further filters using intelligent topics such as sunrises, parties, animals, and more.
Manual organization involves picking your favourites, creating albums and folders, and the option to filter with multiple search terms, e. Basic editing is possible too and the software is optimised for touchscreen devices as well as desktop-based computers.
A powerful image editing program, ACDSee Photo Studio Professional is also an excellent digital asset management and photo editing software.
Users can organize their photos using keywords, by date, using categories, via location, colour labels, and even EXIF data built right into the files themselves. Photos can be imported to ACDSee Photo Studio Pro but files already stored on your storage device can also be accessed via the software unlike Lightroom Classic which requires import before organizing.
By recording a series of photo edits into a script, you can apply the same edits to other photos without having to redo all the hard work, saving time and effort. The same can be done by batch processing, for example, if you need to add a watermark or resize shots for better file management.
You can quickly access photos using the Manage tab at the top of the window and search for files using the file directory pane on the left-hand side, scoot through thumbnail views in the center or search through metadata and EXIF information on the right-hand side, including options to filter based on ratings, labels, and keywords. CyberLink PhotoDirector is a fantastic piece of photo organization and image editing software for beginners, competitively priced and one of the cheapest paid-for options on this list.
The user interface is simple making it easy to navigate for new users. Import photos or folders directly from external devices and organize them with categories, tags, and keywords. Unfortunately, CyberLink PhotoDirector can only import nine different image file formats, but does include up-to-date raw file support and, rather strangely, can import many more video file formats, though export options are limited.
Compatible with a wide array of image files, and even reads raw files. Excellent viewing options for organizing files. When other image organizing apps crash or are slow to load, this is the software we boot up.
In the Browser view you can easily see file directories on the left-hand pane and make swift changes to photo and folder storage locations. One ever-helpful option is the Compare Selected Images view which displays up to four photos next to each other to help image editors choose their favorite whilst organizing.
XNView functions like a browser by displaying opened images in separate tabs across the top of the app window, which might feel a little clumsy for some users.
It has some basic editing functions like crop, color, and tone adjustment, too. File directories are displayed in the left-hand pane, allowing users to switch between folders and storage devices with the same ease you would expect from File Explorer or Finder.
In that same pane it also includes Favorites and Categories Filter tabs to help maintain and search for the appropriate photos. When saving though, it can export to approximately 70 different file formats. Keyboard shortcuts can be utilized to quickly rate images for categorization later. For more serious photo editors and photographers, we recommend the powerful industry standard editor Adobe Lightroom, which comes with Adobe Photoshop in the Photography and Creative Cloud Plan.

The list you have created is very friendly and helpful. It is not easy to find software and get details of them. I saw PhotoScape on your list this software is perfect for everyone mostly it is useful for the website owners or bloggers. Will you suggest some software with some new effects and VFX for personal use? Hey, we are glad you find this list useful. You can try Adobe Lightroom for good effects. We recommend you to check out these free lightroom presets. Feel free to ask anything.
Anyplace you can suggest or point me to? Also has great options about resizing multiple images.. Hi, I am looking for a freeware photo editor for editing my website photos. Can you please suggest which would be the best one to go for?
Thanks for the guide sir. I have used pixlr, photo scape, picmonkey and many other in the list. To me picmonkey is very easy and smooth. I personally prefer picmonkey. But others are also good to use. I think this list includes a great option for those who needs editors to edit their photos. Thanks for sharing the list.
Cool list of software! Thank you for sharing this, Waseem. Being acquainted with several ones from the above mentioned I may say that photographers basically use really powerful stuff for quite ordinary tasks.
Operate with presets and layers, use various brushes and editing tools, as there are so many tech available. Great job! I like GIMP, it can be used by professionals, you just need to get used to how its functions work, coz it different from adobe illustrator.
Throughout the internet, there are a multitude of programs that allow us to edit product photos for our online store and you have shared a wonderful list here. Thanks for sharing this. I am a beginner and tbh, i am talented at taking photos but have really no knowledge at editing them.
I have used photoshop n lightroom but what i need is a program where i take the photo then put card in conputer and it downloads to a program and within secs, pictures are done. The program autonatically does it for me.
Anyone know such a program? Im starting a buisness where i will booked back to back and ned to give them there photos instantly by printing them right there. Thank you in advance!
If I need layers and such I use an additional editor like Photoshop elements. Photography is an ongoing constant learning process and simple yet powerful editing software enhance your creativity beyond imagination. Thnx for sharing all these wonderful software and guide for everyone.
GOD bless you and your team. Great selection. As for me, I mostly use PhotoWorks image editor. Especially i enjoy retouching raw photos — high quality for little time and effort.
I always look to gather new knowledge. I search it out. It really was engaging to read. Thank you for that. I have used PicMonkey for years but now that they upgraded or made changes. I find it very in user friendly. Your list was very helpful. Great list. I agree on most of the software. But there are few more platforms, where we can outsource the services for Professional Photo Editing.
We need to outsource the things. Thank you. Although it would be more fair to compare it against other photo editors, due to its identical interfaces and capabilities.
You need to emphasize how Lightroom and PhotoShop work together. Adobe packages them together for a single fee, along with a small amount of cloud storage. I recently began using Corel Paintshop Pro I had been using the various Photoshop Elements programs for many years. Paintshop Pro has a lot of tools that are lacking in the various Elements programs. Hi, I need the software which can help me to edit jewellery with different background, please let me know which software is good.
I have been using Adobe Lightroom for the last five years and find it quite easy to use even for the beginners and has all the expert level adjustments at the finger tips. The only thing I would advise the Adobe people to work on is adding the content aware feature in Lightroom , I think after that most of the photographers would not need the Adobe Photoshop at all!
I really enjoyed reading your blog, you have worked very well on this website but also I like it and I have received a lot of suggestions in your web site and I have learned all about it and I have been benefited from writing such blogs. Thank you Alexandra for sharing this awesome photo editing software.
I believe this two tool is more than enough for all photo editing needs. Any suggestions as to who does the best Clone tool? They all seem to work slightly different. I use it a lot. Great list of photo editors. Lightroom could be way better, and most photographers who want something else than Lightroom, get stuck because they will miss Photoshop. The best current alternative I believe to be Affinity Photo. Affinity Photo is quite cheap and is very close to matching up with Photoshop.
Skylum Luminar???? I may agree with your other names you have placed on the list, but Skylum Luminar is a beta software that should have never reached the market.
Based on a year experience with both SL 3 and 4, I can tell you the following. But i will check the other photo editing softwares Insha Allah. Great list, thanks! Luminar 4. People are having tons of issues with Luminar 4 crashing in the middle of editing, and the developers are not doing anything to fix the issue, this is been going on for months.
Putting PortraitPro software in your top software list is a little misleading. I use PortraitPro all the time, but I would not use it nor would be used for anything else but portrait shots. Yes, its great but you are confusing this software as a general editing tool. Why did you put this into the running? Not for landscapes, not for real-estate shots, get the point? All the others can be used for all types of photography, including portraits, but not PortraitPro. This is a big Oops in my mind.
Thanks for the article. I honestly think that it really touched the tip of the iceberg. In a good meaning. I was working on Photoshop scripts for a short time but I already see a lot of benefits you get from using them. I am really curious how people will use them and what time saver scripts can be generated.

The mission, which came dangerously close to being shuttered, has been decades in the making. Until now, the United States was spared from Nikon's price increase that went into affect on April 1.
